Barcoo Shire Council is the local government authority for the Barcoo Shire, a rural area in Central West of Queensland incorporating the towns of Jundah, Stonehenge and Windorah, and covers 61,974 square kilometres.

OUR TASK

All Things Web was commissioned to redevelop Council’s corporate website, to make it more user-friendly, functional and content rich, to ensure it met the changes needs of the shire’s remote town and pastoral communities. The site also needed to be an effective marketing tool for the region’s growing tourism sector.

WHAT WE DID

OUR SOLUTION:

We developed a website that better responds to the needs of their community and also provides a wealth of information for tourists. We used Joomla! CMS to make it easier for Council’s in-house marketing team to manage the varied content, news, events, community directory and form submissions easy.The website is now more responsive and is cross-browser compatible.

  • creating custom online forms to gather tender applicant data before providing access to download tender documentation

  • training Council’s nominated administrators and providing custom documentation to manage website content.
